Evolution FTW! »

Recently this image made the front page of digg titled, "What's wrong with our science education."

With over 3000 diggs, it is one of the week's top stories. The submitter: "d2002" intended the release to coincide with Darwin's birthday, February 12th.  I get that the above photo speaks more to Darwin's contemporary legacy than to how the internet feels about his greatest theory, to me (a product of the US public school's science education) this submission is a bit misleading.

By presenting the above photo as evidence of problems with the education system, it makes it seem like the internet is full of evolution deniers.  While there are plenty of Google results that come down on both sides of the issue, by simply using the seach term, "Evolution is" you get a much better idea of how the issue breaks down:

Obviously, when it comes to evolution, the internet speaks resoundingly in favor...

I hereby ban your and everyone else's over-use of the "FTW" acronym.
